OTORONGO - IN SANTA TERESA, COSTA RICA

A new timeline has been set, stepping into the path that is in front of me, with a rooted center and expansive heart, my soul dances. Creating a new home in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. A place I have spent over 10 years coming to. A place where I am powered by the sun, cleansed by the sea, and covered like a blanket in Nature. Alongside a group of friends, Otorongo sits on a dusty road by the sea and in the jungle. We have 4 casitas, each one unique on its own, available to stay, sink in, rest, and play.

For this project I kept this renovation fairly simple, opening up walls, taking up the floor, pouring concrete, plaster the walls, and zellige tiles from Morocco for a small bathroom,  spending a little more on tiles and materials for a small bathroom was helpful, thinking of it as a little jewel box Soothing tones mixed with clay, wood, wovens.

Shelves filled with our Oaxacan ceramics, pendant light by Woven Shop.

bedspread overdyed vintage, pillows Oaxacan with tassel and turkish kilim pillow covers.

I used the remaining tiles I had from the bathroom, as backsplash and put up a vintage indigo batik fabric to cover open shelves.
